If I am not mistaken, I think the Tornado was the first GM front wheel drive production car.
1st FWD from GM would be correct ,though the 1st FWD car was I believe a Cord L29
10-year-old Paul wanted his dad to buy one. Apparently he didn't get the message.
I considered buying one in the late 1960's, but with a growing family, I decided it was just too expensive not to have a decent back seat.

What a timely topic! I recently came across this picture I cut out of the Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper in 1965 when I was 10 years old. Apparently as a kid I saved everything. lol It's yellowed and is a bit brittle but I was able to snap a pic of it. "Artists made the above sketch of the car which Oldsmobile has named Toronado".
I think Phil Realmuto had/has one. I haven't seen him around these new forums as often as he was on the old one. Miss you, Phil!
