Hmmmm....
The only thing 'official' I can find so far is that Chevrolet intends to bring out the ZR-1 with north of 800 HP. If the Zora is built, it is said that it will have the twin-turbo ZR-1 motor and the "electric's" from the E-Ray EV Vette as a hybrid model. That would put the power at or near the 1,000 HP mark they talk about here. Getting interesting.
I think they're going to build it and it will be a monster. That video actually showed some of the C7 proposals that were floating around.I found several "unveilings" including this one,

Not a bad looking SUV concept but Chevrolet would be better off labeling it as anything other than Corvette.
I found the various Zora design offerings very interesting; mainly because it highlighted for me the huge styling impact difference made by either minimizing or deleting the "scoop" on the side. Although the latest Corvette is beautiful and a world class car, there was always something about its looks that didn't sit right with me. I now realize that it was the size and coarseness of that side "scoop" that didn't work for me. The red version shown in the video clip shows this feature minimized and also deleted and as soon as I laid eyes on it I loved the change. Just one man's opinion.....
Most that I know who purchased C8s paid approximately $100K without any premium added. Fully loaded 2023 Anniversary Edition Z06s were topping out at over $150k MSRP. Got to believe the Zora MSRP will be over $200k.

Agreed Jack. I always its design was somewhat disjointed, style-wise.

Excellent perception John. That's exactly what I read in a couple of articles.
hmmm, indeed......can't wait....
but I am afraid this won't be coming our way (The Netherlands)
Way too UGLY for my taste, I'm just too old fashion I guess.
Regarding the C8, it struck me that there was more emphasis on function than form. I agree on the side scoops.
Regarding the SUV, I see no reason GM shouldn't compete with the other high-end SUVs, such as Porsche, Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. The C8 has the chops to hang with them. Those high-end offerings did nothing to dilute their makers' image and actually strengthened their market positions despite huge misgivings expressed by car lovers beforehand. I expect the C8 SUV to broaden its appeal and strengthen its brand in the same manner.

@jkuvakas John are you suggesting then that the other high end SUVs you mention, that have now been selling for a decent number of years, probably haven't sold in sufficient numbers to justify their original R&D costs as they relate to those specific models? Do you think that those particular manufacturers were also willing to perhaps lose money on these SUVs in order to strengthen their brand names as well?
That may, in point of fact, be very true. I initially looked at the concept with the eye of the Corvette enthusiast/owner and Corvette-a-phobe. As the owner of three of them, I spent a good amount of time with other owners in two different Corvette Clubs.
And while owners of Ferrari, Porsche and Lambo, may be rabid brand fans, Corvette buyers are fan-atical. They see the Vette as the true American Sports car.
Back in late '70's a number of Corvette station wagon concepts surfaced (all similar to this one) and GM looked at them.
The Vette purists howled. It never materialized. Would a Vette SUV cannibalize the sales of the C8? I don't know; but as the prices continue to rise on the C8 and, especially if the ZR1 and Zora prove to be as expensive as reported, a lesser priced SUV with a Corvette moniker, may just bring new customers in if significantly lower in price. That doesn't seem to be the case, however, with the high-end imports we just talked about. They are all as high as their sports cars.
It will be interesting to follow, for sure.
