Those engineers would be shocked & amazed to find modern engines, half that size, producing twice the HP - AND - to see electric vehicles blowing everything away.  At 60, I'm old enough to recognize each part on that engine AND tell you exactly how it works.

PLEASE don't ask me to do that for any vehicle manufactured AFTER 2010!  😯 😯 😮

I can go out in the garage and raise the hood on my 61 Vette to see a 1/1. Never saw exhaust manifolds painted engine block orange before.

Never saw exhaust manifolds painted engine block orange before.

I always thought they were.

I've watched several color films (still on YouTube ) of mid to late GM assembly plants in which color-matched, painted exhaust manifolds are clearly visible.    Similarly, I've seen Chrysler films in which exhausted manifolds were color-matched in silver.    Of course, factory exhaust paint quickly deteriorates... for obvious reasons.   🙄 😏

And restorers (including myself ) never color-match, always opting instead for ceramic coatings or simply leaving "rust."
