There was a "nostalgia" post on this forum earlier, which led to a discussion about the DKW car that appeared in one of the photos. I was just trying to check if there were any further comments on the subject and (unless I'm going mad) the post has disappeared. Since I made a couple of contributions I checked on "My activity" in my forum profile and I see my replies to that post are also missing from my record.
Did the original poster delete the entire post and all replies? (Can they do that?) Did it get wiped by a Higher Authority because somebody said something obscene or politically unacceptable about DKW cars or about 1960s shopping malls? (Seems improbable).
Just curious. Are we allowed to ask? Or is national security involved? Or is it an odd technical glitch?

I think I know which post you are referencing Graeme. Was it Goose Bumps?
I did not delete the thread and since John Kuvakus is out of the country right now I doubt he did.
But if the original poster deleted the initial post, I'm not certain that the entire thread would go with it but it may. I'll check.

Yes, it's now gone. I think George initiated that thread, perhaps he deleted it.... ???
I had just posted pics of my Auto Union too...
I believe that was it - thanks Chris!
Apparently, if the original poster deletes the thread, the response posts are deleted as well.
If further down the string, if a post is deleted, others may still survive.
"Goose Bumps", yes, that was it. Well, maybe George can tell us what happened, but it was a pleasant little item about 60s nostalgia which led to an interesting discussion and I can't imagine why he would have had second thoughts about it. Maybe an accidental move?
