What a spectacular move. I visited the old museum in 2010 and saw the new one under construction. At that time they were hoping to open it in two years but the 2011 Arab Spring intervened. This great failure created years of misery, loss of tourism and massive job loss, not to mention looting of Egypt's treasures. Egypt needs a great distraction. This appears to be it, at least in the short term.

It was hard to follow the narrative as my Egyptian is a bit stale.  Quite the impressive production though; no expense spared.  Too bad Boris Karloff wasn't alive to see it.  I'm also surprised the Crypt Kicker Five weren't brought in to sing The Monster Mash....it would have resonated with the international audience.  Still the age old question remains unanswered....."Whatever happened to the Transylvania Twist?"  Maybe I'm being overly critical of this event.  It's just that it chaps my butt to think that when I'm like....a thousand years dead, I won't be given a ride on a military Duck with my name on the front/bow/nose or whatever.
