We just had a waste line replaced...the good news they did not route it through the living room. Less than three hours to replace and install, maybe $20 in materials, 2 men and a $3,000 bill.

Sort of the same with our septic system. Every 5-7 years we have to do a flush-out. Takes them 20 minutes and they smile as they hand ya the bill!
