Was that a factory color? I do not remember seeing any 1969 Mustangs like that.

That’s what caught my eye…looks similar to a Mopar color from the day…

Love the car. But purple, although striking, isn't a favorite of mine. But it sure grabs your attention!!
I LOVE this year Mach I but for me the color ruins the look. Each to his own of course........
This is one of my favorite years for Mustang. I've been looking at this photo and, at first, I thought it was not a factory color. But, now I think it is a special color and the image has been enhanced, perhaps made too vibrant by image processing software. In any event, I found this,

@jkuvakas I worked at a Mercury Lincoln dealership in 1969 and recall a metallic purple used on that year Mercury; it was really attractive and usually accompanied by a black vinyl roof. I saw it most frequently on their 2drht. for some reason. FOMOCO called it Dark Orchid Iridescent. The '69 Mach I featured earlier in this thread was definitely not this color.
I remember that color. I thought it was very classy. I think the Mustang is painted in that special Purple for the "Rocky Mountain Insurance" special, which was probably a special springtime regional offering. Those special mid-year-only colors were fairly common through the sixties and seventies. Some of them carried over into the next model year and became standard colors.
