Another week and I'm getting expectedly poorer.  Gas is @ $5+ per gallon here now, for one thing.  Things are only going to get worse. 😕

Probably not a coincidence that I have also gone another week without using the calculus I had to take in high school. I wonder if there is some connection of mutual deprivation?

I don't think so John; the only guys who get calculus are those who perform manual labor.

I wouldn’t mind the oil price hike if we have a good public transit system. I used to prefer public transit until my job made it a hassle so now I need a car.

@jkuvakas You took calculus in . . . HIGH SCHOOL? 

There were two classes that I felt I had to take in order to feel that I had a college education.  Calc was one and Philosophy was the other - neither of which I have ever since used.

But there is one math still use that never fails me - Algebra.   Finding "X" has saved me time and frustration.
