That's the best guess I could come up with too Frank....but the width of the grille is different. Maybe a later year of this same car???
Yes. I don't think it can be anything else.
The first car produced by GAZ was based on the Ford Model A as part of a "technology exchange" agreement with the Soviets. They then developed it into the M1 which was based on the 4 cylinder version of the Ford Model B.
It was in production from 1936 to 1943 so they may just have altered the grille, but they weren't much given to decadent imperialist-style cosmetic changes so I suspect it just looks a little different in different photos - like this one, where it looks a little wider at the top
