This was a great automotive era when a driver could reach out and adjust any of these switches/controls/dials without taking their eyes off the road.....all done by feel.

I recall when cars had a manual choke and turn signals required the driver to stick his left arm out the window.

@sizedoesmatter My first car, a '53 Ford Customline, had no factory installed turn signals.  I got my first traffic ticket in this car for not using an arm signal.  Lol.

@perrone1 I do remember that Tony, and that reminds me of my very first car. It was a ‘55 Buick Special and there was a similar switch on the floorboard under the go pedal to start the engine.

kivins, the '57 Buick had that feature as well.

Oh yeah! And yes Tony a favorite feature no longer available.

And I also remember manual chokes.
