2007 Ford Edge. This one is near and dear...actually just near, like across the street. This Edge has been sitting in the driveway for three years. When I asked the neighbor about it, she said they stopped driving it because they didn't need two cars. A few months ago I wheeled my compressor over there to air up the tire, but it had split and wouldn't take any air. So there it sits, deteriorating in the California sun.
ridiculous! Why not sell it?
@geoff-jowett wait my thought exactly unless they don't have a solid title for it🤔
Wouldn't take too much to get it back to decent shape. They may just be afraid to sell for fear things in the household might change and they may need a 2nd car again. And perhaps they do not have the money, yet, to properly fix it.
They've owned it since new, so it probably has a clear title. Money's not an issue. I've given them a name of a local body shop to fix the paint and they seemed interested, but I think it's not a priority for them at the present time. It's just easier to do nothing.
Unless they really want to keep it, they could donate it to a charity and get a tax write off. My girl friend and I did it several times with vehicles that looked worse then that.
Hope the car survives ok, or goes honorably to automobile heaven somewhere.
Sad to see a car going to waste, or for that matter, anything being wasted.

@pete-rovero Pete, I think you nailed it..."it's easier to do nothing", of course having the neighbors look at it doesn't enter their minds.
I agree. We've done the same.💯😊Unless they really want to keep it, they could donate it to a charity and get a tax write off. My girl friend and I did it several times with vehicles that looked worse then that.
I’ve given 2 cars to Dallas Can Academy..a school teaching young folks about mechanical stuff;
