The Auto Shows were always such great fun ! I think my first show was at the Chicago Automobile Show in 1957 .....at least it is the first show I have an official lapel badge for. We got in early because Dad's company and his automotive clients. Here I am with an older sister and my Mom at the 1960 and 1961 shows at Chicago's International Amphitheater or the new McCormick Place :

@mikedetorrice yeah, well...  you may have enjoyed yourselves, but those security guards don't seem all that pleased.  🙄 🙄

I think  your right,  The entry door and stairs do look like Municipal Auditorium.  The only car show I've been there for was in 1966 when the Toronado came out..

Lol, the Andy Frain security guards/ushers do seem to look a little resigned ! But they knew Dad and he treated them right, so it might be that within an hour or so the public doors would open and they would have to watch things and answer every question imaginable.

The doors opened at 11 am but by noon we would already be at the Presidents Walk at McCormick Place for lunch and I would have stacks of auto brochures and literature of all my dream machines. Smile

It is great to have such photos and memories .....and I think the poodles name was "Stuffed Creature" !

The image the Chris posted reminds us that these automobile shows were put on across the country, both in the USA and Canada. They were really well attended .....as they would be with pretty girl models and fabulous cars, both dream and real.

Yep, all great memories of a truly bygone era. Social media & the internet have basically destroyed all the glamour & mystique that once was, not to mention that Gen-X-ers, Millennials, and Gen Z folks don't really "see"  cars in the same ways the Silent Generation & Baby Boomers do.  😔 😔
