car model AC 3000 ME
Does anyone have a model of this car model ??? Looks like what the Fiero should have looked like. Any info ??

Looks too much like a Ferrari. They would have been sued if the Fiero looked like that.
Pontiac was forced to stop supporting the Mera as deliverable from the dealership when Ferrari sued as it was a 308 kit car on the outside. The inside was still a Fieto though.
And the Fiero looked fine in both major body forms. It was just the seriously underpowered Iron Duke and early problems with fires from using it that killed it. Had GM execs not scrapped the plan of using a V8 (they were afraid it would threaten the Corvette) and providing it with its own suspension not a parts bin one, it would have been a smashing success. But Pontiac already had a Camaro counterpart and Chevy cried foul and the higher ups at GM listened.

Pontiac finally reworked the suspension, got it right, then they quit making it.
The suspension they put under the '88 model was the one originally designed for the car but sidelined to keep expenses down. That car was a great car with handling more like a true mid-engined sports car than the original version which used a mix of Chevette/T1000 and Phoenix suspension bits.
Pontiac had planned a DOHC engine for '90 and there was talk of a turbo as well. If they had started out with a more powerful engine and a better suspension, the car might have survived. As it was, the improvements were too late. All along, Chevy was having a fit over whether the Fiero would compete with the Corvette.

Who knows? his might have rekindled the performance fire at Pontiac and saved the entire brand!

The Pontiac Fiero was a great idea, ‘til the bean counters ruined the concept.
Pontiac could have enjoyed the popularity of the Mazda Miata which was done right.
