Just one of the many great performances from The Johnny Cash Show that was on ABC in the early 1970's. On a side note, you have to love the Rug Carl is wearing.

Eric's got his blues voice working. He deferred to Carl Perkins on the guitar licks. In a few years, he would defer to no man when it comes to the blues guitar.    What year is this?

@rich-sufficool. Derek and the Dominos (Clapton) performed "It's Too Late" and "Matchbox" (w/ Carl Perkins) live on the Johnny Cash Show. Recorded November 5, 1970 and broadcast on January 6, 1971.Â
