True, but only of the media that disagrees with my opinions.

I miss objective news reporting. We live in a very misinformed time IMHO.
The VAST majority of today's mainstream media has an agenda that they are going to push. I, and several other elder members here, can surely remember the days when that was not so. Truthful and unbiased reporting of news was the norm; not slanted or taken out of context. Today, they pick and chose what to air, depending on its impact on their political outlook. And therein is a major glitch in the reporting of truth - it has largely become a political endeavor. At least in this old man's viewpoint.
@perrone1, well said. All it ever comes down to is ratings and ad sales. If no one watched most of the garbage that calls itself news broadcast today, they would stop airing it. There are no secret meetings at which they say, "Let's make them watch this!" Put one talking head up there that lambastes a political party or politician; it doesn't matter which, and millions flock to them. We are being trained to be angry, and, as a culture, we eat it up. We get what we ask for!

Amen sir - AMEN!!
@jkuvakas Well stated JK. What mainly seems to result from this style of sensationalized, overstated reporting is the polarization of public opinion with the resulting elevated emotion and overdone acting out that often accompanies it. In addition there is no doubt that the opportunity for public manipulation is maximized using this reporting style; which is especially concerning considering the ownership/monopolization of our media sources. It flies in the face of the old, proven adage of "together we're better" and certainly fails to cultivate critically important mutual respect.
My take!
Right on point Bruce - LOVE that song, love that whole album!
@perrone1 I recall reading that Don Henley did that song as push back after the media crucified him when he got picked up with some coke in his early wild rocker days.

I would believe that. I have his albums and that of the Eagles and love their/his music. But I do not necessarily find him as a role model. We saw them in person in Knoxville at the "When Hell Freezes Over Tour" concert (2 of them)

I must say that in any of his interviews done in recent years that I've seen he seems quite healthy and together, humble and personable. Don Felder likely has a different perspective though...lol.
He and Glen Frey created the band and I'm sure that business can be a nightmare at times. They are one of my favorite bands and IMO he has a lot to be proud of.
