I like both cars very much but prefer the '55 design for its trim application and nose treatment which turned a somewhat pouty face into a more pleasant look.
I guess I'm just a misfit - I prefer the clean & simple design applique of the color breaks in a strong fashion. To me the '55 was strangely odd in that it doesn't separate the colors in an even way. Ok, I'll step out back now and eat worms..................
I like the smile on the 55 but it does remind of my braces as a high school junior. 😬

I voted for the 1955, but the 1954 would have won for me if it was the lower trim with the saddle bag rear fenders.
Retired in Dunedin, Florida.
I owned a ‘55 Super 88 for a short time back in the 60’s

I just like the grille on the 55 better. Otherwise it would have been a tie.
I much prefer the side trim on the 54, otherwise it would be a tie.

Tony, be careful where you step and make sure the worms don't get a chance to eat you !
I voted tie as a 54 or 55 Oldsmobile was the first car I remember my dad having when I was three or four years old. It was red and white also. I just don't remember what year it was.
I'd park either one in my driveway with pride. The '54 was perfection in the making and the '55 captured that perfection. Thinking it couldn't get any better, the '56 proved us wrong and was better. Then we (or at least I) was given the '57 in a beauty that will forever say OLDSMOBILE. I think these four years of OLDSMOBILE were the reflection of perfection in 1950's automobile styling.

Love both, but it's the '55 for me...prefer the design of the side trim.
