The USA beat the PRC in total 2020 (2021) Olympic medals 118 to 88 and in total gold medals 39 to 38. That wasn't just good luck for the USA, especially considering relative populations.

True Mike, but we are not talking about the USA here, we are looking at the great improvement of China on the Olympic world stage.

There was a huge gain in Olympic medals in all categories for Germany from the 1932 Olympics to the 1936 Olympics. Germany won 20 medals in the 1932 L.A.Olympics. (3 Gold-12 Silver-5 Bronze) ..........and in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Germany won 89 medals (33 Gold- 26 Silver- 30 Bronze)
Hmmm, gee whiz, what changed in Germany between 1932 and 1936 ?
Umm, well, dictatorship/police state + party developed automatons officially focused on superman/superwoman glory for the nation can produce quite a lot of results..... in sports and "other areas".

Remember when Chinese couples were not allowed to have more than 1 child ?
Well, they are experiencing a steep drop in population-growth right now.
They should be more careful with the kids they do have....

Pretty amazing. I suspect kids like this will have a good life if they continue to excell in this way. If not it's probably bye bye.
