FLASHBACK FRIDAY

Enjoying my coffee this morning, I was going through record albums.  When I came across a few of my favorite Hank Thompson albums, they made me smile. Knowing personally and and having the honor to introduce on stage Country Music Hall of Fame Legend Hank Thompson before one of his treasured concerts is one of those memories.

I remember fondly sitting with him in his motor home before the concert and chatting about his illustrious career.  A career that spanned seven decades!  I loved hearing about his insights on how songs came to him.

The photo below is from the Midwest Music Theater in Sandstone, MN.  When Hank passed away in November 2007, I had to step away from my desk at work as I actually shed some tears.  Naturally this morning while finishing my coffee, I listened to a couple of albums.  A very relaxing morning.

@frank

Thanks for sharing Hank's song.  It stayed at number one on the Country Music charts for many, many weeks.  Then female singer Kitty Wells wrote an answer song titled, "It Wasn't God Who Made Honkey Tonk Angels", which brought Hanks song back to the number one spot.
