From the "HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?" Department...

I've concluded that it's NOT the Gas prices that I'm concerned about...it's the Water prices!  I went over to Target to get some bottled water, and planning ahead for the upcoming holiday weekend, decided to get three 24 packs of the water.

When I got to the register my total was $118.07.  After paying, my receipt congratulated me saying that I had, "Received RedCard Savings of $5.90".  After adding in state sales tax of $3.38, my total was $115.55.

Man, water is expensive!

I should point out that when approaching the register, I noticed that many items other than water had mysteriously appeared in my shopping cart.  But wait...I had my wife Lorraine along with me so that while using my Target Card to pay, she could put in the super secret password code, that I've never been able to remember, no matter how hard I try.  I'm reminded often that the code was created by me, and that it is one of our daughters birthday.  Doesn't matter, I can't remember it when I get to the register.  Never ever!

When I had this "What happened look on my face at the register", Lorraine thanked me  for the, "New little Garden Bench", that I'd noticed it was one of the things in the cart that I was only planning to put Water in.

While I was telling this inflationary costly Target visit to my oldest daughter, she giggled and told me that, "Target has a $100 cover charge when entering the store".

So it's dawned on me that I'm better off going to the gas station as I can at least decide up front while pumping, when I want to stop.

Oh and did I mention that I love my wife?  Smile

I never go to Target. A $100 cover charge? You're kidding, right?

Of course my daughter was kidding when she said that to me.  Target is one of those stores that you can go in for just one item you need, and then come out with a cart full of stuff you didn't even know you were going to buy.  Thus, the "$100 cover charge" comment.  Smile
