We are all individuals and some decline faster than others. We can rationalize all we want but I suspect we are not the same driver that we were 20 years ago. Stay safe. By the way, I'm 83 years old and I can still navigate the streets and highways within "The Greater New York City Area."
20 years ago. Amen to that! I have found that I have slowed WAY down. envision far further ahead, what can possibly happen and prepare for it. But same driver? Nope, you're right on the money. Reactions are no where near they used to be.

Of course, if reflexes were the primary determinant of a good driver, spiders and snakes would make the best drivers around !

Agree about spiders - 6 or 8 legs/arms, whatever. But snakes? Just one end for the gas pedal.
