Both are gorgeous cars I would love to own, but today I prefer the Pontiac just a wee bit more than the Mercury.  This could change tomorrow.

Pontiac wins by 50 miles; love this year and the colors shown are my favorite for it.  The '59 is my least favorite Mercury ever made.

Inspired comparo John! Neither make me quiver at the knees. But the George Jetson Merc is just a tad over my limits of acceptance. Poncho gets the gold.

Both are such beautiful 1959 automobiles and I am delighted to have diecast replicas of each of these cars. When I was  little kid, I had a 1/25 promo of the 1959 Pontiac 2-door coupe.

While the Mercury is a touch better [bumpers] than the two previous years I still don't care for it's styling.

Pontiac while not my favorite ['61] it is the best styled car in the GMC line up for '59 and beats most models FoMoCo has to offer in '59 [T-bird beats it though].

Make that Pontiac by 59 miles for me!

'59 is my all-time favorite year for Pontiac, and the Bonneville 2-door hardtop is the best-looking of the bunch!

What a great way to start the day today, thanks, John!

LOL, you guys got me today, I'm runnin' behind and can't get ahold of my arse to catch up.  You know my pick, but I do love the '59 Merc also.😁

Pontiac for sure of these two. This one looks better than it performs, though.

The Merc looks a bit too formal to me, almost like you’re on your way to church while the Poncho looks like your on a nice country Sunday drive to find a local ice cream dairy like my parents would do in Lancaster, NY. Ahem, it was ALWAYS chocolate for me.

I like the Pontiac better than the 59 Buick and Oldsmobile.  The Mercury is bit boxy but nicest grill of late 50s Merc grills.  I was surprised. I checked the polling and no one voted for the Mercury by it self.

The Pontiac gets my vote for the delicate and beautiful roofline. The Mercury roofline has always interested me, and I love the rear window treatment. Furthermore, the compound curves of the windshield are an object of fascination. But they serve to make the windshield look a bit too large, and the design does not come together for me nearly as well as the Pontiac.

Nice comparo, John!
