Amazing stuff. Perhaps if they got off of their phones they would be aware of their cars falling apart.

I was a dealership tech for 25 years, and we had an ongoing joke that always started with "Customer States" 🤣

Thanks for posting this John.

Unbelievable, lol ! One gets the impression that : (1) People are increasingly becoming brainless idiots (2) Cars are not so solidly built anymore with increased aluminum and plastic parts and weight-saving measures that have now affected durability (3) Roads are falling apart in many areas and (high) taxes are not going effectively towards fixing and maintaining roads. (4) Violent behavior by criminal elements is a problem in certain areas.

@mikedetorrice  I personally think that there are two main contributors to this appalling lack of maintenance.  People, particularly young car owners, now know much less about car operation and repair.  In the last couple of decades cars have become far too intricate to even begin to understand or tinker with, which of course sends people back to the dealer for maintenance.  As dealership service is usually very expensive most people avoid it like the plague....I know I do. The corner gas station mechanic has been squeezed out by rapid technology changes which require continual training off site.  Oil changes are more often now done by "quick lube" stations by young people with little to no mechanical expertise.  Also, oil changes are now only required every 6000 miles or so, compared to every 2000 back in the day.  As a result of these and other factors cars are not checked as regularly and completely as they require.

Ed;  IMHO your Honda is one of the best cars that provide decent transportation, very minimal repair needs and great durability, good gas mileage and lower depreciation rate.  About as good as it gets really.
