I read today that Lufthansa is planning 18,000 flights without passengers just to keep their landingsrights.....
In the meantime Frans Timmermans is trying to talk you out of your internal combustion engine-car, because it pollutes the environment....

I'm guessing that by releasing this info Lufthansa is hoping to get such a reaction from the masses to perhaps avoid such a payment, or at least decrease it. Such is politics.......

The world gets wackier by the day. As has been said recently "i've got to stop saying can we get any dumber?" as people are beginning to take that as a challenge.

That article was from the Maui News, dated January 7, 2022, and was EU centric in its reporting. Apparently, the EU is not extending protection for airline slots due to non-use. Further along in the story, it indicated that the US FAA had already "waived similar minimum slot-use rules through March 26". It usually helps to research a story before noting that the sky is falling.
I research a lot of what is posted here, and some of it is incorrect in some way.
Just sayin'.
