I cannot imagine how anyone could possibly trust a driverless car with their life.
@jack-dodds, seeing how some human beings drive, I'm not so sure computer driven cars are a bad idea. 🙄

I'm reading today that there are 17 fatality accidents being investigated with the teslas using the automated driving feature.Â
These have all occurred since June of 2021.Â
Leave me out.Â

@100ford2003, that is a scary figure. But it's nearly minimal compared to the total number of fatalities from human-driven cars since June of 2021. It's over 75,000 according to the NHSTA.

But a new car that can not drive it self still no longer gives you a direct connection to almost everything. Latest cars steering is electric that is capable to over ride your input same for the brakes, if something goes wrong?? One of the reasons I sold my 2020 Explorer st, I didn't like fighting my own car. My '22 Forester is almost as bad but I can turn off the pains and cover the notification light with electrical tape, better than the Ford I would have to lock things out every time I got into the car, back to default factory setting.
True JK, true. I'm on the road almost everyday here in SoCal and I can't believe what I see

All that being said, I don't think I could ever get accustomed to my car driving for me. Â

If I was incapable of driving myself and my choices were using public transportation or my own driverless car, I would choose my driverless car. Public transportation, at least here in LA, can be rather unreliable and not particularly safe. Owning a driverless car would be more comfortable and much safer for senior citizens. I'm looking forward to owning one in, say, twenty years!
Well said, Pete. I hadn't thought of that. I agree!
