Has anyone else noticed the description section for an eBay seller’s auction item? Usually no details of the actual item for sale, no mention of the condition, if it has the original box and docs, only an AI generic summary of the model in general. Now today I’ve noticed the ultimate, AI lead photos that have nothing to do with the model and totally made up and false descriptions. Check this one out, pictures are worth a thousand words. This seller has a ton of similar listings, no shame!

A seller to stay away from!
My opinion here. First mistake is buying or considering to buy from eBay. I'd rather not have any particular model than buy from eBay.

@georgeschire I’ve mentioned before that I got into collecting ‘Mint’ models approximately 5 years ago, long after they were out of the automobile model production. There are only a few routes to go to acquire the models and I’ve dealt with quite a few. The vast majority of my models were purchased on eBay, and I have had 99.9% good experiences. The small % that were bad were eventually made right. A lot of the time I’m simply amazed at how nice the models I receive are. I’ve made mention on several posts that some are new in the box, and didn’t appear to have even been taken out of the box except for photo’s. I don’t have even close to the biggest collection, but I wouldn’t have any if not for eBay. I totally respect everyone’s opinion, especially yours George, and the point of my post was that there are some bad actors out there that are ruining the hobby. With AI especially, you have to be really diligent in your searches. I’m attaching a few pics of my models that were purchased on eBay exclusively, not a stinker in the bunch, I’d have no problem rating them all pristine.
What a beautiful collection of model automobiles and trucks ! It is a real bonus to be able to obtain all of these to add to your display. A happy end result is everyone involved being pleased with the final results.
I order from Ebay on a regular basis and have only ever had one mishap. I ordered this model.
But received this one instead.
I contacted the seller, he subsequently sent me the Maverick and told me to go ahead and keep the truck for the trouble. I'm glad it worked out that way actually, as it's a great truck model. So I was quite happy with how it turned out. I've not had anything else bad happen. Just giving my experiences. 😊
I wonder, how would you find and purchase on the aftermarket if not for eBay?
Notice that in my comment above, I said, "My opinion here".
The only models I've purchased "aftermarket" were from reliable individuals on the old Diecast Forum site. Always had perfect experiences. It's been years ago, but I attempted two buying experiences on eBay and BOTH were bad. I don't and won't go for strike three.
