the Henge staff has a full year to prepare for this ordeal ....... too bad for them, they always wait `til the very last minute
Yes, that pic is a bit of fun, but has nothing to do with daylight saving time. Back in 1872, in a major feat of Victorian hydraulic engineering, the whole Stonehenge array was mounted on a water-powered turntable which rotates 30 degrees (360÷12) in either direction at the pull of a lever when the clocks change by an hour.
The photo dates from 2016 when a leap second was added to keep solar time in line with atomic clock time. Since the turntable couldn't be adjusted finely enough, each stone had to be manually moved 13.64 inches clockwise around the perimeter, which is what those guys are doing.
Just so you know.

Sayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy........wasn`t that the plot of 1959`s "Mr Peabody" (and his adopted boy,Sherman)?
The "playing" with the clocks each Fall and Spring is so stupid. They feed us the BS about longer evenings in the summer, but the reality is, we still have the same number of hours of daylight. And the argument I give for just staying "Standard" time is best proven by this morning. I got up at my usual time of 6:00am, but the difference was, that it was "daylight" outside, where as on "Daylight" time it would have been 7:00am before it got light. So just leave it on "Standard" time, as I most prefer daylight in the morning, rather than at night when we're supposed to go to sleep. Plus, most health experts will tell you that changing the time back and forth, does play some havoc with our body rhythm's.
