This week with another major snowstorm that hit us, I'm officially waving the "white flag". The total inches on my driveway was 18.5.

At least we are not cutting grass, gardening and cleaning the pool right now George. I don’t mind the snow as much as the melting and much as temperatures warm.
91.4F here in Melbourne at the moment. Swap ya some snow George!

For me, winter sucks! Ever since I was a kid, I've not found a redeeming factor in snow, cold, wind, dirt, and ice for 7 months out of every year. As for summer, BRING IT ON! I've never, ever complained in my whole life about the sun, blue skies, long days, and warm and humid weather. I can take the heat and humidity fine, but the cold, I can't function. Why am I living where I do? Damned if I know!

..........Have you noticed the presence of any bothersome ankle chains as you move from one chilled room to another ?
............I did a six year stint in Northwest Ohio ...........working outdoors, year round,as a substation electrician.......never felt better then, at days end, peeling off the Carharts and Herman Boots.......now I see a picture of your driveway and right off,get a case of the creeping chillblains
i did do something about it...50 years ago I drove my '70 Monte Carlo from Fairbanks Alaska to Dallas, got a transfer in my Letter Carrier job and never regretted it.

Please be careful if you're still making your morning coffee runs.

YOU, are a smart man. I kick myself for not making a similar move 50 years ago. Now seriously, no matter how badly I'd like to move, I can't. It's complicated, that's the best way to say it. I'll leave it at that.

LOL, we've had so much snow, that coffee runs are out of the picture. We got 18.5 inches the other day and that brings our winter total up to 77 inches of snow, most of which has NOT melted. And we've still got March (on average our snowiest month) to go, plus usually April for the first couple of weeks can be iffy. We've had measurable snow, as much as 10 inches as late as April 29th. So summer is not even on the radar yet, and won't be for a long time.
Then we have transitional May, where it is still chilly, often rainy, and sometimes storms. Finally when June comes, we don't get two weeks in to it when there are knuckleheads who are complaining it's too hot. I always have to restrain myself from giving them a solid right hook to their choppers. When July comes and it's hot and humid for a few weeks, those same people are still complaining. Then by August end, we get teased with Fall coming and frost temperatures are possible. You can guess the rest of the story.

George,
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY.
I lived there till June 1967. Yes, I remember the not so wonderful AND the wonderful change in seasons.
Nothing like using water to comb my hair because I was out of Brylcreem in the winter and having ice in my hair as I walked to my bus stop !
Or walking through the snowy fields near where I lived, stepping into a deep puddle, and having the muddy mess suck my snowboot off as I tried to extract my foot.
Then hopping around trying to keep my sock dry while retrieving said boot. There are some memories I'll never forget or exchange for others.
I had a GREAT childhood growing up. I share these memories with my 2yr younger sister.
We laugh, we cry, we reminisce and are thankful to GOD for these experiences.

LOL, and per capita, we see more rainbows like this than anyone else sees traditional rainbows.

Thanks for sharing. With every memory, good or bad, it comprises who we are and become. It's those memories that give each day meaning. Embrace them always.
