My goodness, she could not have been more assertive about not wanting that wheelchair. Maybe a little more discussion before the gift might have helped. I wonder what she will say when she opens the next gift package with the hearing aids?

I know 2 people that think the same; in their mind a wheelchair means they are handicapped and no longer whole which means to them they are loosing their independence in the old fashion way.

as long as my friends don`t speak in "fine print",there`s about a 41% chance I can piece together a pretty fair gist of their intent
