I had a 1963 Corvair Spyder Convertible when I got married in 1965. I loved that car because it was quick and agile. Traded it 1966 for a Buick Skylark GS 400.
I remember pops having one when I was little. He didn't keep it long. I dont remember why though.
You gave me quite a fright, when I opened this topic, Galen55. I thought it was my parents, for my father had a Corvair of this exact color in which he used to go back and forth to work. No, there was no radio in this one, either. It did have a floor-shift four-speed, though, but it still couldn't get out of its own way.
In my memory a relative of our family had one and they called it the rocket car.
Not sure why, though.
