I know I'm likely in the minority on this one, but the 1958 OLDSMOBILE will always be one of my favorite years!  All of General Motor's '58s were styling masterpieces, and the Oldsmobile was no exception.

It would be a boring hobby if we all liked the same cars. Garish and overdone to my eyes.

I reckon its a great example of pure individualistic styling. Or in other words, there ain't nothing else like it out there! That makes the car appealing to me and I'd definitely have a scale replica of it.

Geoff;  I have one model of this car and one of the '58 Buick (both 1:43) in my display cabinet simply to represent the era they came from.  I don't care for them but I still find them interesting to look at.  Same goes for 1:1 car shows.

There are times when I wonder, "It would be a boring hobby if we all liked the same cars".  It is a fact that people are drawn together by their similar likes, whether it be food, clothes, music, sports, movies, TV, politics, vaccines, and yes even cars.  And because of these similar likes, people have good times sharing and being together.  With our world in so much strife and disharmony today, perhaps if more people had more of a common ground together, we'd not have the great divide we do.  Just a thought.  Smile

As to the GM line up in 58 the only 2 I care for were the Chevy Impala and the Pontiac Bonneville.

Great comment George.  Just for the record by the way, in spite of your inexplainable love for certain odd looking cars from 1958 Wink , I still think you are a great person and enjoy your daily input here.

Ugly. Just one man's opinion.

And your opinion counts.  I remember though that a couple of years ago when I described a car as "ugly", I was told that by my saying a car is "ugly" it may be taken as an insult to someone who thinks it is beautiful.  Alas though, both are in the eyes of the beholder.

I believe that was for hot rods and cars individuals built [customized], so as to not hurt their feelings.  I didn't think it was meant for manufactured cars. I don't think you can hurt their feelings.
