Did my monthly grocery shopping yesterday. Finished up with good fuel points so I quickly gassed up there. With my points, my regular was $1.97!! The average low price in town is $2.39 elsewhere.
1,77 in Germany, on average...of course that is per litre. In USD that would be 2.08, but it is still only a litre of fuel, and with a gallon equaling 3.785 litres, that brings the per gallon cost to 6,70€ or 7.91USD. Do you feel better, now?
Unfortunately, here in California the average price of gas is $4.63/gallon. Cheapest gas is at Costco. I filled my truck up a week and a half ago and the price was $4.099. Yesterday I filled up another car it jumped to $4.299. Corner gas stations are 60 to 80 cents higher. The gas tax here is $.71/gallon plus 10 percent sales tax on top of that. Californians are overtaxed and overregulated. Sadly, the Golden State is tarnished.

YIKES Pete!! Our grandson, 33, has been in California now for going on 2 1/2 years. He's at The Salk Institute in La Jolla. He's deer-in-the-headlights over the cost of everything. His grant is up shortly and he assures us that even though he loves the state as a whole, he can't stand, as you put it, the overtaxing & overregulation of the people.
