The 1962 PLYMOUTH was a car that had to grow on me. When I was 11 years old, and saw it for the first time, I thought it was quite possibly the ugliest car I'd ever seen. It just looked odd to me from every angle.
But over the decades and now in hindsight, I've mellowed considerably because today I think it is one of the most beautifully styled cars of the sixties. Maybe it's oddity of the styling that has become appealing to me, or maybe it was always beautiful and I just didn't see it. After all, I was only 11.
"CARS & PARTS" magazine was one of my favorites. Their articles were always well researched and written by respected car guys. Bob Stevens was one of those guys! His article on this '62 Plymouth Fury is an example of his work. And it highlights a car that today is (to my eyes) one damn sharp looking automobile.

LOL, that was funny! Back then I'd have said I would NEVER like that Plymouth. But you know what they say about "never saying never?".

I had the same feelings about the '57 - '60 Dodge & Plymouth hated them when they came out but like them a lot now. BUT I have always disliked the '61 - '64 Dodge & Plymouths and still do.
Love Dodge & Plymouths '65 - '71 drive trains & styling/design.
As a 10 year old I actually liked this car when it debuted......as opposed to the Dodge. That grille always intrigued me for some reason. IMO the tail lights could have been better designed though.
