This is mind-boggling...
I went to the post office today (Dec. 18) to mail a small package. While waiting in line for my turn at the counter, the guy that came in behind me starts a conversation about the wind and the impending snow and colder weather. Hey, that's what we Minnesotan's do, we talk about the weather. It's always a great ice-breaker.
Anyway, after the three people in front of me finally finish up, it's my turn at the window. I go through the usual questions about what is or isn't in the package, and hey, that's okay, I'm all about keeping things safe in our upside world. I pay the postage and get my change.
Now here is the part about, "Things I don't understand". The guy behind me that I had been chatting with, got to the window and asked the clerk for Christmas stamps. Certainly a normal request this time of year, after all, Christmas is only a week away. The clerk responds to the guy saying, "We don't have any Christmas stamps and won't be getting any more in".
Hearing this, I shake my head recalling that back on Dec. 5th, I was at this same window at this same post office branch, to get Christmas stamps. However, I was told that they didn't have any Christmas stamps in yet. I said to the clerk, if he realized that it was only 20 days until Christmas and that people send out Christmas cards. His reply was, "I can give you some nature picture stamps". I walked away from him as I mumbled, "And you wonder why people don't use the mail as much anymore".
So today, now just 7 days until Christmas, they eventually must have had some Christmas stamps, but are now out and won't get any more in. I'm sorry, I don't understand! Oh and, the clerk today offered the guy some "Flag" stamps instead. Yup, this is another "Things I don't understand" added to my list, that is already much, much too long of things I don't understand!
