It was an era when dealerships by the dozens lined University Ave. Any make, any brand, there was a dealership. It was fun when my Dad would take to all of them each year when they showcased all the new cars in the Fall. This was MIDWAY CHEVROLET in 1957. The words "Midway Chevrolet" and the "Chevy Logo" were shouted to us with Neon Lights with the lights on the Globe flashing. From blocks away, you could see the sign. FUN MEMORIES!

Yep, my dad and I would do the same. I remember when dealership windows would be covered with paper so you couldn't see the cars. We would make our way to the back lot and look at all the newly delivered cars parked there. I even remember seeing the delivery transporters with the cars all covered up.

I treasure those memories with my Dad. He passed at 54 when I was 34. I'm his 1st born son and he always treated me so well. When I was just a kid he would take me to work with him to finish up all the electrical wiring he just finished. This entailed placing and screwing on the plug and switch plate covers. I always made sure that the screw slots matched up ..lol... always vertical. When it was cold in the winter months I always got to sit on the engine cover in my dad's Econoline cuz that's where the warmest seat was... Oh what memories. Till the day I die I hope I never forget them.
