I was researching 1955 Le Mans Aston Martin DBS3 and this is my favorite picture, there is so much action, but what amazed me is the "fire safety".

...and "stuff"  like this still happens.   One our local gas station had its pump extinguishers tripped by a smoker-joker; that one little area looked like a BBQ!   Even when I smoked, I would NEVER EVER even think of pumping gas with a Kool-Mild  in my hand!    😬 😬 😬    I'm even extra cautious just filling up my mower can!

When I worked as a letter carrier back in the '70s we used to get our Jeeps gassed up at a full service station. Lenny would always come out and gas my Jeep up with a cigarette in his hand and then puff on it casually while he filled the vehicle. I always stepped away from the pumps LOL. Years later a gas station went in next to the post office and we were required to fill the tanks ourselves which satisfied me completely.
