Some may never know how true that can be, and I hope they never do.
As a lot of the older D4C members know, I had a hard time with that concept when I lost my only daughter and her husband in a horrible car accident in 2003. She was 33 and they were married for 5 years.
People say that time heals all wounds. Not so. The loss of a child is not a natural progression. We should lose older family members first and outlive our children. Humans are ill-equipped to forfeit their young. Grief can be consuming; especially for someone so exceptionally close to their offspring. But, as you say, 'it's a passage'; my salvation was knowing well how Heather lived and she would not have wanted me to unduly greave for her.
Thanks for the extremely nice message today David!
@perrone1 Tony although it happened some time ago, I still offer my condolences for your loss.

Thank you Bob!
Well said, Tony. I've done dozens of funerals. I always tell the family, you will never get over this. But you will learn to live with it. With time the grief will be joined by fond memories. Your tears will be accompanied by smiles. But, there will always be a space in your heart where this loved one will remain.
