Happy Heavenly Birthday to one of my personal favorite Country Music Legends, Hank Thompson! Born on September 3, 1925 Hank charted hits in 7 decades during his storied career.
Hank was inducted in to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989 and in to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1997.
Having attended many of Hank's "Live" concerts over the decades, I was never disappointed with his performances along with his band, The Brazos Valley Boys.
Imagine the honor it was for me to meet Hank in person and talk with him at many of those concerts. Then I had one my most memorable moments when I personally got to introduce him on stage before one of his shows in Sandstone, MN. at the Midwest Country Theatre.
When I got the news on November 6, 2007 while at work that he passed away, I had to step away from my desk and find a quiet place for a moment of silence as I wiped away tears.
Hank's music is uplifting to me still today, as I play his albums/CD's often. I'm smiling and playing one of his songs as I type this. THANKS HANK!
