Here is a 1942 Cadillac Series 63 sedan - a car that I wouldn't normally consider a candidate for modification but........

the paint color, how the car appeared in the photo background, and the later Cadillac sombrero wheel covers all caught my eye. I've led with a photo of this car that appeared in another series to give you an 'as found' entry.

As found:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (1)

My starting point, nosed only:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (2)

Cleaned up the front bumper and grill a bit and removed the exterior mirror:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (3)

V-butted the windshield and shaved the door handles:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (4)

Lowered the cowl, pancaked the hood, modified the beltline trim and paintwork:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (5)

Recurved and raised the front bumper, making the grill less massive, tucked the rear bumper and went over the paint and trim with a view toward a smoother package:

42 Cadillac Series 63 Sedan Mild Custom (6)

I came away really liking this car.

Do you find any of the edits more pleasing than the 'less found' version?

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

It's beginning to look a bit like a Tucker.

My favorites are; As Found and the very last one. As a Custom, your modifications are excellent, especially the two-toning paint and cleanness of the car. But as a classic '42, the original.
