it is from a Hudson generation that I've never liked due to the bulbous hood and poorly proportioned greenhouse. This truck has been mildly and tastefully dechromed but still could benefit from some editing, in my opinion. So, just to see what it looks like, I did several and offer a few of them for your viewing pleasure.
As found:
Took a significant horizontal slice out of the body, just below the beltline, mostly to reduce the hood height:
Removed hood trim slimming the hood profile:
Major dechroming, a mild chop and reworked the grill:
Undid much of the body sectioning to address the poorly proportioned greenhouse, added some slope to the hood and front clip and frenched the headlights thus removing more chrome. Note that the glass area in the front, sides and back of the greenhouse is now linear.
I'm still doing more edits to the windshield, cowl and hood shape, again, just to see what they look like, but I'll stop with the five photos shown here to avoid simply presenting too many options with minimal changes.
I look forward to your comments.
Enjoy!
Like you, I'm not a big fan of that huge proboscis. And while the last picture has, perhaps, a somewhat too pointy appendage, I like it much better. If its leading edge were to be less vertical and slanted back more, it may look better still. And I love the lighting highlights you added on the last image!!
@perrone1: Tony, I agree with the squared off hood shape and have a couple more that I did but don't like very well. One shows the curved hood profile and retains the mis-proportioned greenhouse and the other improves the greenhouse linearity, lowers the hood profile significantly and also has the curved hood. I'm still working with this one the improve the hood profile. I'll share it sometime in the future.
These two are head & shoulders more attractive in my viewpoint!
I like the original body BUT with the rhinoplasty as per the trimmed hood beak shown in pic 2 and the mild roof chop.
LOL! Love that fancy word for nose job!I like the original body BUT with the rhinoplasty as per the trimmed hood beak shown in pic 2 and the mild roof chop.
