Here is a 1950 Ford that has been modified as a hardtop, presumably from a sedan. In that Ford's first two-door hardtop did not appear until 1951, modifying this car would have taken a good deal of work.
But in doing so, the top was chopped, making the car's proportions unattractive, to my eye. So, I did several edits to improve the proportions, and share a few of them here.
As found:
Some body cleanup and a mild section, just below the taillights. The proportions are still less-than-pleasing:
Took some chop out of the top, improving the proportions significantly:
Keeping the top chop as found and sectioning the body a bit more:
Radiused the rear wheel openings:
The changes in proportion are visible and are obtained using different approaches.
Which of them, or multiples if you wish, do you find more pleasing?
@jack-dodds: Jack, I didn't do that edit in that I believed the proportions would still not be acceptable. Please excuse this relatively rough cut but it does effectively place the less-chopped top on the un-sectioned body. Do you like this edit or the original photo #3?
@bob-jackman and J. Kuvakas: Thanks, gentlemen, I prefer that rear wheel opening as well. In that I did a rough edit of Jack Dodd's request, I also did an edit on photo #3, the slightly sectioned car with less chop in the top with the radiused rear wheel openings. What do you think?

For me - Perfect, right here! Love the skirtless look but your radius job is outstanding!
For me it's "Keeping the top chop as found and sectioning the body a bit more"...Not a fan of the open wheel wells, '50 Fords and skirts go hand in hand.
