Here is a 1960 Chrysler New Yorker 4-door hardtop that I decided to modify. Not sure why in that it's style is not particularly appealing, but.....

I went ahead and did it anyway, just to see the results.

As found:

60 Chrysler New Yorker (1)

Lowered, rear bumper tucked in, front bumper shaved and filled, mild dechroming:

60 Chrysler New Yorker (2)

Made it into a 2-door hardtop and lowered the beltline to reduce the fin height:

60 Chrysler New Yorker (3)

Made the grill less massive and moved the headlights:

60 Chrysler New Yorker (4)

I spent way too much time on this one, creating several more edits changing grill size, etc. but decided to share only these four.

Was my time worth the outcome in your humble opinion?

Enjoy!

Pic 2 for me but ideally done as a 2drht.  This thing has low rider written all over it.

@jack-dodds: Wasn't sure what you meant, Jack, until I looked at the two photos together. You wanted the 2dr. hardtop with the original fin height. Duh!

Your wish is my command.

PLEASE leave mine original.  The '60 Chrysler, along with the '60 Buick and '60 Mercury are the three highlights in automotive styling in a very bland and dismal year for design.  Everything else from the Big Three lacks excitement for 1960.
