The 1964 Mercury Monterey/ Montclair Marauder is among my favorite cars. I particularly like it with fender skirts / spats but doubtless others will disagree.  If anybody knows of a nice quality 1/43 model I would be pleased to hear of it.

@charles-rockett  As you may be aware Charles, Goldvarg is bringing out this car but with the different roof this year.  I would be very surprised if Sergio didn't eventually do this roof line as well, as I think it would be a popular seller.  I much prefer the fastback roof line.

@jack-dodds Many thanks Jack, for this update. I have Sergio's info@ address and have found him very helpful in the past, regarding his spectacular '65 Mercury Park Lane. So I'll write and ask what will be happening with this model.  You are quite right, this roofline is far more dramatic than the more standard saloon roofline that appeared on the four door.

As I've written above I do like this roofline with the fender skirts as it adopts a rather menacing attitude with; though of course, at the expense of its light, fleety quality without. I attempted a minor change to this effect with a Road Signature model but the results have been too amateurish to use - Im no modeller.

My favorite is the Dodge 880 but would prefer original wheels and wheel covers.

@charles-rockett  Yes, Sergio is very approachable and a great person.  Maybe he will agree to do the Marauder version in time on the '64.  I must say though; I'm not a skirts guy when it comes to most cars, especially the 1960s.

Your view point is in the majority - unnecessary frills aren't the stuff of 1960s cars.
