The Woodward Dream Cruise is the largest one-day car show in the United States. It has been going on for more than 25 years (although the 2020 was cancelled due to Covid) It began as a charity benefit to support a Ferndale area soccer team in 1994. There were 30,000 to 40,000 people expected, over 250,000 attended and it was spread out along Woodward Avenue in six communities. The Cruise has evolved to become a mega event, it runs the length of Woodward Ave for about 16 miles from Ferndale to Pontiac.
I have attended the show for all but three years, despite the huge amount of people, it is still a great day to enjoy a wide variety of classic cars.
