Always bought American.... I've had them all, from Chevrolet Chevettes with rusted out floorboards to brand new Cadillacs.  I've ALSO "paid the price"  for owning nothing but American vehicles.  I've said it MANY times - if you drive American you MUST purchase extended warrantees.   One way or another, you're gonna  pay!    😌 😌 😌

Including 'company cars' that spanned a 45 year career, I've owned more than 150 cars. Vast majority were American. But have owned cars from Japan, Great Britain, Germany and Italy as well.

I've only had cars from America, Britain, Germany and Japan.  If I counted right, I believe I have had 44 cars during my driving career over 50 years.

Because I lived in Manhattan for 35 years (half my life), I've only owned four cars: American, Italian, American, then after that gap, Japanese.

The Italian was a Fiat 128SL, and everything you'd expect: an absolute ball to drive and rusted out in less than two years.

My current car has been fantastic for the whole of its 10+ years. I hope to keep it forever. This is on a trip to Maine a few years ago.

@ed-glorius The Honda Fit is a bullet proof, economic commuter car that has fantastic resale.  Good choice Ed!
