@bob-jackman .........I like the guy who sidles up to the one to his left, arm over the shoulder, giving him an earful `bout how it was in the "old" days
.....also the little brown goat with short term memory issues who seems pretty certain that the shed door opens from the left 🤔Â
This clip reminded me of a childhood memory worth sharing. My father used to raise champion German Shorthaired Pointers and was known in many parts of the world for his field trial champions. We had very many litters (average count was around 9 pups per) over the years and I often fed these wee puppies; omg they were SO cute. I would make up a mush-like concoction (picture a warm, runny stew), put it in a very wide, round, flat pan about 18 inches in diameter and place it on the ground. I would then go unlock their kennel door and like those goats, they would come tumbling out and make a beeline for the pan of mush. They would start at the outer edge of the pan, head down in it continually, and steadily eat while working their way into the center. You could watch their little bellies expand as they ate....slurp, slurp, slurp; it was hilarious. As they finished each bloated pup would finally raise its head and literally stagger out of the pan; face and paws covered in mush muck. Next they would all come over to me and want to play, tugging on my runners laces and my pants bottoms. I would break away, grab the empty pan and make a dash for the house, with them hot in pursuit. It was a daily ritual. They were priceless and I will always carry that clear memory. I loved those little guys.
Best post I have seen for a long time. Jack I appreciate you sharing your memories of feeding the pups. I've often thought if you could bottle the smell of puppy breath you could become wealthy. Thanks guys.
