Cool - how interesting. Great old shot.
What a great photograph of hard-working guys putting this automobile together. No rather soulless mechanical robots here !
...that IS a great picture! Those UAW guys in either MD, KS, MO or CA were making c. $6,000 a year. Imagine telling them, in 1964, that in 2025 those same jobs would pay c. $125,000 - $195,000 (w/benefits, profit sharing, bonus, etc.. )
They would've called a padded ambulance and stuffed YOU in it! 😬 😬 😬
Love the pic Galen. One of fondest memories as a kid in the 1960's and early 70's was taking tours through the FORD PLANT that was in St. Paul. Sometime later in the 70's they switched over to just assembling Ford Trucks and then as time went on, FoMoCo closed the plant and left. The site that it was on has been a major eyesore at times and always discussed as what should be done with it.

Love all pictures of cars being built.
@jack-dodds I agree Jack. Did not like the 65-67 Chevelle, and the 68 was iffy. But when the changed the taillights on the 69, then I liked that body style, and then the 70 came.
@carsman1958 I never disliked any Chevelle until 1973, but my fave by far is the '69 SS.
