The cars I am into are generally American 1950 to 1972, there is a few that I just don't appreciate the styling of.

Too far out for my taste!

What do you find lacking [in your taste] for styling?

FAR too many to list - but yours will do; just fine. Thanks Bruce!  Wink

A list like yours is subjective at best.  Our eyes all see cars differently, as some we all like, some none of us like, and some we can debate about.  From your list, I can only say that disagree with the '58 Oldsmobile and the 59 Chevrolet, as both are to my eyes absolutely GORGEOUS!

A couple of the others were not originally to my liking, but as the decades have passed, they've grown on me.  They would be the '61 and '62 Plymouths.

The other ones you listed, I'm in agreement with you. But I also have a list of what I call "ugly cars", and keep in mind that both "ugly" and "beauty" are in the eyes of the beholder.  Some I positively hate are:

'61 Thunderbird

'58 through '60 through '63 Lincolns

'61 Ford

'65 through

'68 Fords

'53 Corvettes all the way to today

'60 Oldsmobile

'60 Pontiac

'60 Cadillac

All Imperials from '57 going forward

'56 through '59 Plymouths

'61 DeSoto

'59 Edsel

There are others, but these come to mind as being major walk-a-way from cars for me.

I agree with you on the early '60s Chrysler Corp offerings: the moulded curves are straight out of the Black Lagoon. But have to disagree on the '59 Chevy which looks as if it just flew in from space 🚀 (though granted, not subtle).

Here's my canned response. Love them all, big or small, foreign or domestic, old or new, hardtop or soft, two doors or more, basic or top of the line. Get the picture? If it has a motor and wheels, it’s worthy of a look. Absolutely no reason to paint myself into a corner. Change a word or two and this response could apply to just about anything in life.

I personally like the MoPars. As for the GM's, I only like the Chevy as an Impala hardtop.

Thanks !

@brush Almost anything AMC, especially the Marlin and Matador. Love the AMX though. I actually owned a Rambler Classic 660 4- Surprised door a lifetime ago, never won a race!

There are some cars that don't appeal to me but for the most part I appreciate them all for their contribution to automobile history and representation of the various styling eras.  My main interest is in the post war through late '60s era and wanes generally after the early 1970s.

LOL, that's only a 10 year window.  Just curious, what is the basis for this?  Your age?

That's a good question. And while not a huge window of automotive interest it is closer to 20+ years than 10. Post war would be about 1946 cars to "late '60's" so let's call that 1969. That's 23 years.

I'm betting you're right, that it is age related. Most of us look at and admire things through the prism of our age and our experiences thereof.

If it has wheels and a steering wheel, I'm in. I love them all, love driving them, and love looking at them. I find something interesting in every car I see at a show, usually something I hadn't noticed before. Now, I'm a bit pickier when it comes to what will be parked in my driveway.

Yep. I think most of us here feel that way and we're proud to be called 'car guys'. Not sure the younger folks feel that way though.
