Given the regular jokes and grumbles about physical ailments and diminished capacity (hardly surprising in a forum community where the average age is pushing the century mark) it occurred to me that a well-disciplined regime of physical workouts in a structured environment has much to commend it. However, I fear that many Lounge Lizards would see this as an alien concept.
p.s. I was thinking of claiming a prize for the most gratuitously pointless post of the year so far, but (a) the competition is fierce and (b) I suspect a used Trabant is still the main award on offer, and I don't really fancy the shipping and customs charges, and (c) I'm sure that with a bit more thought I can do better. (Watch this space).
I'm pretty sure by saying that you might do better, you don't mean choosing a Yugo over a Trabant.... or do you ?
Steve; The Trabant is best not referred to due to a tragic chapter in this Forum's history. You may recall a couple of years ago we had a contest in which the 1st. prize was a rare Trabant SS demi-coupe with the fuel efficient 1 H.P. Whinny drive train. Unfortunately the winner was not a visionary; he was unable to see the obvious rate of appreciation this car was destined to accrue and declined to pay us the modest registration/handling/detailing/delivery fee, so it was to be returned to our prize facility. Sadly, immediately after this picture was taken the Trabant was hit head-on by the truck you see approaching in the photo. Apparently our driver nodded off and crossed over center; resulting in him killing the engine.
@perrone1, while we are sad over the horse's fate, our primary concern is the uber-rare Trabant SS demi-coupe with the equally rare rear seat drive option. Fortunately, it remains isolated from the elements, submerged in the swa...holding pond behind our hideou...global headquarters.

Oh thank the Heavens for a modicum of good news for a change!
@jack-dodds That's just SO sad and depressing. Poor, poor Pony!
Yes indeed...it's hard to talk about. There were hoofbeats on my heart that day. His name was Mony.........we bought him from a musician in Detroit named Ryder.

"Duh" I said while slapping my forehead. I'd forgotten about that debacle. I'm not sure that it's a good issue to recollect on. And when you use the word 'visionary' I'd have to conclude that our Trabant SS Demi Coupe driver might have had a vision problem as to not clearly see the vehicle in front of him and his 1HP drivetrain.
There's always the possibility that the Whinny drive propulsion system laid down a few 'road apples' and the Trabant's tires skidded through them and suffered a loss of control. This could account for this awful accident. Any chance that a salvage title is available ?
