Be sure to use special Eclipse glasses or indirect viewing practices (described online) for viewing if you are in the path of the event.

We happen to have several eclipse-ready glasses available for those last-minute eclipse preppers. Made from totally recyclable materials, these hand-crafted glasses will not only guarantee a memorable experience while viewing the eclipse; they will become a tactile memento of the last time you witnessed an eclipse. Our special, one-day-only reduced price is $2000.

Oh NUTS! Too late for me to get them now - all we have are these dumb NASA-approved glasses that I bought for the last eclipse. Oh well, next turn of the sun event we'll have these spectacle, ah, spectacular viewing glasses!

Throw in the Trabant from a previous post and I'll consider this incomparable 'deal'.

This scientific stuff is just too difficult to understand; it  leaves me and Otis in the dark.

Yes of course but does that include excessive refraction from the surface curvature as it relates to Forumites residing in the GMT?  Asking for a friend.

I think you maybe need to look . . um . . you know . . like . . UPWARDS a bit more?

As for the GMT bit, it looks like I need to travel about 100 miles west in the next 15-20 minutes to have a chance of seeing anything. I'm still a pretty sharp mover on a pushbike but it's a big ask.

Aww that's a shame to miss it.  I would suggest you try going metric but that's even further!

This raises the question: "is there an upwards perspective when a person is in total darkness?"  Only Paul Rouffa knows for sure, I would suggest.

Well, I gave it my best shot, but made a few wrong turns in the gathering gloom and ended up colliding with Stonehenge. "Well, stone me", said I to myself. "Where the hell am I now? Boulder? Little Rock? Who can tell?"
