I couldn't imagine a car ever succeeding in the marketplace with a name like Fururw (although I guess Plymouth came close).

I thought the Astrion was an enlightening peek at the development of the '61 Continental and Thunderbird.

Thank you John for these illuminating previews of what was once our Futures. So optimistic! Tomorrow I shall don my white coat and attempt an exterior shoot of my 1:43 Futura.

Hadn't see this before. Very cool.  Thanks, John.  I wonder if that was the same FoMoCo Styling Committee which approved the Edsel.  🤣 🤣 🤣

@jkuvakas  Yes that's what I thought too.  I find automotive design from that era fascinating.

@jack-dodds, What is amazing is that the '61's looked so modern when they came out. Then, we find out they were thinking along those lines for years!

@graeme-ogg  Graeme, Plymouth were going to go with that name but when they added their proposed Super Sport "SS"  behind the name they decided, for obvious reasons, to go with the Fury III name instead.  Wink
